Known for its 5-star rating, The Peninsula Manila sure didn’t disappoint.
Upon arriving at the drop-off point, we were greeted with a big genuine smile by a staff who opened the car door for us. He said hello and gladly welcomed us to the grand hotel. Even members of the staff whom we bumped into inside were all smiles. I couldn’t help getting mesmerized by the warm gesture. I also kept admiring the luxurious and elegant main entrance leading to the grandiose lobby.
The lobby is an undying icon of the hotel. In the afternoon, guests would lounge there while sipping tea. In the evening, they would drink a glass or two of their favorite wine while listening to soft jazz.
“Is it your first time here?” the good-looking receptionist asked when we approached the front desk to check in.
“Yes,” we answered.
“Oh, we hope you enjoy your stay.”
Then he walked us to our room with pleasure. The soft, comfortable looking bed caught my eye. It made me want to jump in right away.
We opted for the Deluxe Room with a cozy bed and fluffy pillows. The view was the main thoroughfare of the Makati CBD. At night, the chaos of the traffic outside surprisingly becomes a stunning sight.
We stayed at the Peninsula Manila for a total of 4 nights and 5 days. One day, we were too lazy to go out, so we ordered pizza from the hotel’s restaurant.
We were watching the Royal Wedding when our order arrived. (By the way, the Peninsula Manila doesn’t allow fast food delivery. I didn’t ask why.)
We got really excited when the doorbell rang, as we were starving. We were surprised (in a happy way) when we opened the door. It was an extraordinary delivery!
There was a round table with our pizza on a platter on top. The staff said some lines before he served us as if we were a king and a queen.
It was one of the best pizzas we’ve ever eaten so far, thanks to the remarkable service. Our ordinary evening turned into a special night from the comforts of our room.
We ate buffet breakfast at Escolta, the hotel’s restaurant, which offers a great selection of Asian and International cuisines. One of the best we enjoyed was the fresh coconut juice! Chris loved it so much that he had 3 glasses of it every breakfast and even during lunch and dinner.
Going back to the staff, they were neat, well-trained and knowledgeable. They were always smiling, a testament to how accommodating they were. They spoke excellent English wherever they were stationed, be it at the restaurant or by the pool.

I tell myself to give and spend more time to do what I really love to do, writing ✍️. But the reality is, I also have to do what I need to do, and that is working. They say that if you love your job, you’ll never have to hate Mondays, or weekdays, or any days. Apparently, that is not always true, even if we love what we do, there are times we couldn’t help but complain or get tired 💤 😂😭 No much complains tho, I love my job! But most of all, I love my life! 😍 🌞 . . . . 📷 📍The Peninsula, Manila . . . . . #photooftheday #travel #travelstyle #travelbabe #travelstories #philippines #hotelpolice #luxurylifestyle #travelblogger #manila #wanderlust #summerdestination #passionpassport #globetrotter #vacation #beach #loveforwriting #writer #beautifulday #themanilapeninsula #gltlove #glt #escapesanddiaries #luxurytravel #job #ilovemylife #thepeninsulahotel #lifewelltravelled
The Peninsula Manila is conveniently located in the middle of the city. A few blocks from the hotel are big shopping malls like SM, Landmark, Glorietta, and Greenbelt.
We loved everything about the Peninsula Manila and we would love to go back! Indeed, the hotel is legendary.
